The people cried out, “Where is the God of justice?” (Mal. 2:17). The Lord answered—He is coming! First, His messenger will prepare the way, then the Lord Himself will suddenly appear (3:1). But His coming won’t be comfortable. He will be like a refiner’s fire and a launderer’s soap, purging impurities from His people (3:2-3). He will bring justice, judging the wicked—sorcerers, liars, and oppressors (3:5). Yet, for those who fear Him, the Sun of Righteousness will rise with healing (4:2). The wicked will be like ashes beneath their feet (4:3), but God calls His people to remember His commands and turn their hearts before the great and dreadful day of the Lord (4:4-6). Are we ready for His refining fire—or His healing light?
